Patsy Waite

Stay tuned for an interview with Patsy Waite who retired from her state government job after 25 years of service and has settled in Kingston in the remote Big Smoky Valley of Nevada.  Never a conformist, she has continued to astound those who know her, opening a mountain bike shop in the tiny community of Austin, Nevada, located right on Route 50 – The Loneliest Road in America.

August 18 and 19, 2001 she and her son will be hosting the 5th Annual “Claim Jumpers” Mountain Bike Race-Weekend.  There will be all levels of competition: Beginner – Pro-Expert.  It is a NORBA sanctioned event with both Cross Country & Downhill.

Swimming and free camping in town and area campgrounds are available and there will be Free Kids Races and Activities for ages14 and under.  The event will be fun for the whole family.

The interview with Patsy has been stimulating and I’ve decided to try mountain biking!  Yet, another first for the Outdoor Neophyte.  That says something about the enthusiasm Patsy generates!

Hope to see you there!
